WHAT IS
THE D7 VISA?
The D7 Visa entitles foreign citizens or holders of their own income who wish to reside in Portugal. These may enjoy the status of non-habitual residents and thus be exempt from taxation on income or pensions obtained outside Portugal, provided they have already been taxed in their country of origin.
All foreign citizens, who are not nationals of EU Member States, European Economic Area and Switzerland, who intend to reside in Portugal as pensioners or live off their own income obtained outside Portugal, provided that they have already been taxed in their country of origin, who intend to perform religious functions or live in a congregation.
